No. 7 Trojans Complete Comeback Victory Over Oregon, 2-1

LOS ANGELES – The No. 7-ranked Trojans completed their fourth come-from-behind victory of the year with two goals in the final 10 minutes of play to defeat the visiting Oregon Ducks 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.
"Today Oregon was a little bit better than us for the majority of the game, but the competitive spirit that we have shown all season found its way into this one. We were able to get two late goals, and all the credit goes to our team for being able to get that done," explained head coach Keidane McAlpine.
The Trojans (8-1-1, 2-0-1 Pac-12) fell behind early in the 13th minute of play as the Ducks (6-5, 0-3 Pac-12) finished up an opportunity with redshirt freshman goalkeeper Kaylie Collins off her line, as Chardonnay Curran found the back of the net through three Trojan defenders.
The Trojans continued to push the pressure through the first half, but the Ducks continued to fight as well. At the half the Ducks tallied five shots to USC's four. They also had four corner kick opportunities to USC's three.
In the second half the Trojans rallied forward even more, pushing for that equalizer. The Trojans outshot the Ducks 10 to four in the half, and finally broke through in the 82nd minute. Junior midfielder Leah Pruitt delivered a perfect cross from the left side, finding the head of senior midfielder Nicole Molen, who found the back of the net for her second goal in as many games.
With new energy after the equalizer, freshman forward Tara McKeown wasted little time putting the Trojans on top with a goal just two minutes after Molen's equalizer in the 84th minute. Junior defender Erika Okuma played a nice ball up to McKeown on the left side of the box, who slotted it home near post. The goal is McKeown's third of the year.
The Trojan defense locked things down through the final six minutes of regulation to hang onto the victory. The Trojans are now unbeaten in their last seven games.
The team will be back in action on Thursday, Oct. 5, when they travel to Arizona. The game is set for a 7 p.m. PT kick.
