Trojans Continue Competition at Riviera/ITA All-American Championships

Two Trojan tandems participated in the Doubles Qualifying Round of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
USC's No. 46 Angela Kulikov/Madison Westby moved onto the second round of Qualifiers after they defeated Lipscomb's Dzyuba/Buberl 8-5 on Tuesday (Oct. 3). The pair then unfortunately lost to the Vanderbilt duo Kurtz/Rosca 8-4 on Wednesday (Oct. 4).
Also competing in the Doubles Qualifying Round for the Women of Troy was No. 23 Gabby Smith/Rianna Valdes. The No. 4 seeded twosome lost in an extremely tight match on Tuesday (Oct. 3) to Clemson's Navarro/Leduc 8-7 (5). They went on to win their consolation match 8-7 (1) on Wednesday (Oct. 4) against Hawaii's No. 51 Melounova/Resma.
Today (Oct. 5), USC's No. 14 Gabby Smith will compete in the Singles Main Draw of the tournament.
