McQuin Baron Hauls In Another MPSF Player of the Week Pick

The senior goalie has his second selection of the year as he moves up to No. 2 all-time in MPSF history.

Senior goalie McQuin Baron has locked up his second MPSF Player of the Week honor of the season after racking up 32 saves across two USC wins last week. Most notably, Baron took over as the MPSF's No. 2 all-time career saves leader with his third of 18 saves in an 11-9 overtime win over No. 7 Long Beach State.

With four saves made during overtime, Baron ended up just one save away from his career high in that key OT victory over the 49ers. Baron would then add 14 more saves to his count in a 6-3 road win at No. 8 UC Santa Barbara. The two wins this week improved the Trojans to 18-1 overall. Now with 962 career saves – 145 of which have come this year — Baron trails the MPSF all-time leader Alex Malkis of Pacific (1,057 saves).

Already USC's all-time career saves leader, Baron has now been named MPSF Player of the Week five times in his USC career, with two selections to date in 2017.
