Women of Troy To Compete in ITA Southwest Regionals

Tomorrow (Oct. 18), the USC women's tennis team will begin their run at the ITA Southwest Regionals. The tournament, hosted by the ITA and the University of San Diego, will bring together some of the top women's collegiate talent in the ITA southwest region. The regional doubles champions and regional singles champions and finalists will qualify for the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships held in Surprise, AZ.

In singles, freshman Estella Jaeger, sophomore Sydney Van Alphen and juniors Angela Kulikov and Becca Weissmann will compete in the Round of 128 tomorrow at 9:45 a.m.

Freshmen Salma Ewing, the No. 5 Freshman/Newcomer in the nation and Danielle Willson, junior Constance Branstine and senior No. 74 Rianna Valdes all have byes in the Round of 128 and will compete in the Round of 64 at 12:30 p.m.

In the doubles competition, the Trojan pairs of Ewing/Willson and Jaeger/Van Alphen will play in the Round of 64 on Thursday (Oct. 18) at 9 a.m., while the No. 27 duo of Kulikov/Valdes and Branstine/Weissmann will have a bye in the first round and begin competing in the Round of 32 on Friday (Oct. 19) at 9 a.m.
