Hannes Daube Scores Fourth MPSF Newcomer of the Week Award

USC freshman Hannes Daube scored three goals, nabbed two steals and had an assist in USC's 25th win of the year to help secure his fourth MPSF Newcomer of the Week award of the year — a conference record on the men's side.

Up against No. 5 Pacific in a nonconference home match last weekend, Daube delivered the first goal of the game and then struck twice more in the second half to get to a hat trick, marking his eighth outing with at least three goals scored. The freshman now grips 45 goals on the year. USC's 10-5 win over the Tigers improved the Trojans to 25-1 overall in 2018.

Along with Daube's four MPSF Newcomer of the Week awards this season, freshman goalies Sam Krutonog and Nic Porter have each earned honors. Porter has won the award twice, giving USC a whopping seven wins in nine weeks.

Daube and the Trojans will host California in a key MPSF clash this Saturday (Nov. 3) at 1 p.m. at Uytengsu Aquatics Center. That game will be televised on Pac-12 Los Angeles. On Sunday (Nov. 4), USC will visit UC Irvine for a 1 p.m. nonconference matchup.
