Miller, Sutton, and Gilbert Receive IWLCA All-Region Notice

USC lacrosse midfielder Kerrigan Miller and senior Lydia Sutton were each named to the All-West/Midwest First Team
GRAND LAKE, Colo. – USC lacrosse sophomore Kerrigan Miller (Bayport, N.Y.), senior defender Lydia Sutton (Minnetonka, Minn.) and junior defender Jackie Gilbert (Pleasanton, Calif.) were each named to among the 128 student-athletes chosen to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division I all-region teams on Friday, May 11.

Miller and Sutton were each named to the All-West/Midwest first team. Gilbert was chosen to the second team. Sutton was also a first-team choice in 2017 and was later honored as an IWLCA third-team All-American. Miller received second-team notice as a freshman. This is Gilbert's first all-region selection. All three Women of Troy were also members of the Pac-12's inaugural all-conference team and are now eligible to be chosen as 2018 IWLCA All-Americans. Miller is the Pac-12's Midfielder of the Year.

Miller led the Pac-12 in caused turnovers (40), caused turnovers per game (2.22 ctpg), and is tied for first with four game-winning goals. She led USC with 49 points, was second on the team with 48 draw controls, and third with 38 ground balls.

Sutton served as one of the Trojans' captains in 2018 and ranked second on the team with 44 ground balls and 27 caused turnovers. She was also the catalyst to the Trojans' transition game and helped USC to a .914 clearance rate (317-of-347).

Gilbert is one of the team's primary crease defenders and served as the Trojans' draw specialist. She led the team with 86 draw controls and had three games with more than 10 to set new personal records in 2018. She was also third on the team with 22 caused turnovers and ranked fourth with 25 ground balls.

USC finished the year with a 10-8 overall record and advanced to the semifinals of the inaugural Pac-12 tournament where it fell to champion Stanford in a narrow 15-14 defeat. The Women of Troy were 6-4 to finish third in the league's regular-season standings. Sixth-year head coach Lindsey Munday is 79-38 (.675) through the 2018 season.
