Seniors Jordyn Alves, Chloe Chrysikopoulos and Ida Gørtz Jacobsen, redshirt junior Marliis Reinkort, junior Krete Koovit and sophomore Katarzyna Pilch were each named CRCA National Scholar-Athletes for their outstanding performances in the classroom.
Â
The Trojans now have 40 all-time scholar-athlete selections. This is Gørtz Jacobsen's third recognition and Chrysikopoulos' and Koovit's second time winning the award.
Â
In addition, the Pac-12 Conference named its All-Academic Rowing teams today (June 5). Seniors Chloe Chrysikopoulos and Ida Gørtz Jacobsen, redshirt junior Marliis Reinkort, junior Krete Koovit and sophomore Katarzyna Pilch were named to the First Team, while seniors Kate Melberg, Katie Hubert, Isabel Fitter and Nikoline Laidlaw and juniors Brooke Downes and Radka Novotnikova each received Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention.
Â
Gørtz Jacobsen, the Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year, is now a three-time first team selection as she graduated with a 3.89 GPA as she double majored in global studies and comparative literature with a minor in architecture.
Â
Chrysikopoulos makes her second-career first team appearance and graduated last month with a 3.81 GPA with a bachelor's degree in theatre and master's degree in sports journalism.
To be eligible for selection to the Pac-12 all-academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and participate in at least half of their team's scheduled regular-season events. Since 1992, USC women's rowing owns 57 first-team Pac-12 all-academic certificates with 27 second-team selections.
