
Megan Biging Named Assistant Women's Rowing Coach

USC women's rowing head coach Josh Adam has announced the addition of a new staff member. Megan Biging, a former rower for the Women of Troy as well as a former assistant coach, has returned to her alma mater and will begin working with the team this fall.

"I am very excited to welcome Megan back to the Trojan Rowing Family," said Adam. "Megan's previous experience as both a Trojan rower and coach for our program makes her a great fit. Her expertise and skill as a coach stood out in the interview process. She will be a great role model for our team, and I am looking forward to a great partnership."

Biging returns to Troy after being an assistant coach for the USC women's rowing program for five years from 2011 through 2016. While an assistant coach at USC, Biging helped the Women of Troy achieve a fourth place finish at the 2011 NCAA Championships, the highest finish ever for the program.

Before coaching at USC, Biging was the head coach at the Radnor Girls Crew Club in Wayne, Penn. where she coached 30 young women to two first place finishes at the prestigious Stotesbury Regatta and her team qualified for the scholastic championships every year.

Biging also gained experience working at the Masters Rowing Association and coached at the Marine Aquatic Center in Marina del Rey, Calif.

In addition to her plethora of coaching experience, Biging is an accomplished rower.

Biging competed in the 2016 Great Pacific Race where she spent 57 days at sea rowing 2,400 miles from Monterey, Calif. to Honolulu, Hi. With her sixth place finish in the race, she holds the World Record for fastest all-female classic pair to row across the eastern Pacific Ocean.

Biging competed for the Women of Troy from 2002 to 2006 and was the team captain for the 2006-07 season. Her best performances include third place at the 2006 Pac-10 Championships and a sixth place finish at the 2003 NCAA Championships. In 2006 she earned CRCA Second Team honors and the Trojan Spirit Award.

Biging graduated from USC in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in social science with an emphasis in psychology. She also has a Master of Arts in organizational leadership from Gonzaga, which she earned in 2012.
