No. 15 USC Men's Volleyball Sweeps Princeton

Jack Wyett and Ryan Moss each had 12 kills while hitting over .600 to lead the No. 15-ranked USC men's volleyball team to a 25-22, 25-22, 25-21 sweep over Princeton in a non-conference match on Thursday (Jan. 31) at USC's Galen Center.
USC improved to 6-3 overall, while Princeton fell to 2-6. It was just the second time the teams have played, following last season's Trojan home victory.
Wyett hit .647 and added 5 digs, 3 blocks and 3 aces, while Moss hit .632 with 4 blocks. Teammate Sam Lewis had 5 blocks and Brandon Browning had 5 kills and 4 digs while starting.
For Princeton, Kendall Ratter had 12 kills while hitting .421 and added 5 digs and 3 aces, George Huhmann had 11 kills and Parker Dixon had 8 kills.
USC hit .508 overall to Princeton's .275. The Trojans had 10.5 blocks to the Tigers' 1.5.
USC built a 12-9 margin in the first set and never surrendered the lead while hitting .478. At 3-3 in the second set, USC scored 6 out of the next 8 points to build a 9-5 edge and then increased it to 18-10 before the Tigers crept back to within 19-17, but the Trojans held them off while hitting .545. USC used a 5-0 run to go up 5-1 at the start of the third set and Princeton could never catch up as Troy hit .500 and had 6 blocks.
USC now goes to No. 4 UC Irvine on Saturday (Feb. 2) for a 7 p.m. non-conference contest that is a rematch of last week's Trojan home victory.
