Senior outside hitter Khalia Lanier racked up 26 kills in a victory over the Golden Bears
LOS ANGELES – The USC women's volleyball team (12-7, 6-3 Pac-12) defeated 15th-ranked California (17-2, 7-2) in four sets (25-14, 25-19, 21-25, 25-19), at Galen Center on Friday, Oct. 25. The Trojans' win snapped the Golden Bears' seven-match winning streak.

- Sr. OH Khalia Lanier matched her season high of 28.0 points and equaled her season best with 26 kills (5e, 53att) as she hit .396 to go with four digs, two blocks, and a service ace. It was Lanier's 15th match in double-digit kills this season.
- Sr. MB Jasmine Gross racked up 13.5 points with seven kills (0e, 15att, .467) which included USC's final two kills of the match and matched her season best with 11 blocks to go with two digs and a service ace.
- So. setter Raquel Lázaro had 40 assists and picked up nine digs and six blocks with one kill.
- Fr. OPP Emilia Weske logged 10.5 points with seven kills (2e, 20att, .250), four blocks (one solo) and a service ace.
- Fr. OH Kalen Owes put up 11.0 points with nine kills (4e, 25att, .200), four blocks, and two digs.
- Defensively, Sr. libero Raegan LeGrand led USC with 19 digs.
- For the Golden Bears, Mima Mirkovic (14) was one of three players with double-digit kills. Maddie Haynes (13) and Bailee Huizenga (13) each also reached double-digits. Mirkovic and Emma Smith led Cal with 12 digs apiece.
- USC out-blocked California, 15.5 to 4.0. The Trojans registered their ninth match in double-digit blocks this season and out-hit the Bears, .323 (52-12-124) to .088 (44-32-137) in the match.
- The Trojans had six of their blocks in the first set and hit .385 to Cal's negative .133 rate. USC broke away from a 14-all tie after Weske earned a kill and went back to serve out an 11-0 run to close the books on a 25-14 victory.
- Lanier had six kills and USC hit .393 in the second frame. The Trojans used another big run to pull away from the Bears and go up, 2-0, in the match with a 25-19 win. After 10 tie scores in the third, the Bears went 5-1 to take a set on a 25-21 win.
- USC used a 6-0 run to break open the fourth set for a 14-7 lead. The run included three straight kills by Lanier who had eight in the final frame. The Trojans hit .308 and led by as many as seven points before sealing a 25-19 win for the victory.
- The Women of Troy close out the first half of the Pac-12 schedule against No. 2-ranked Stanford (13-4, 7-2 Pac-12) on Sunday (Oct. 27) at Galen Center at 1 p.m. PT. The match will be shown live on Pac-12 Network, Los Angeles, and Bay Area.
- USC improved to 61-12 all-time against California and to 32-3 in home matches. It was the Trojans' eighth straight victory over the Golden Bears dating back to 2015.
- The Women of Troy improved to 167-38 all-time at Galen Center.
- USC's victory is its second over a ranked opponent this season (No. 8 Washington, Oct. 4).
- The Trojans out-blocked their opponent for the 15th time this season and out-hit their foe for the 14th time.
- USC's three-match winning streak matches its longest this season (Sept. 13-14).
