Ryder Jackson Through To SoCal Intercollegiate Singles Final

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. — USC freshman Stefan Dostanic had another winning day at the Southern California Intercollegiate Championships, hauling in two more singles wins and a doubles victory to take his place in tomorrow's singles final and doubles semifinal alongside teammate Bradley Frye. The action is all set for USC's own Marks Stadium.

Jackson pulled out a three-set battle against Azusa Pacific's Jacob Schnaitter in the quarterfinals earlier today, posting a 6-2, 6-7, 6-4 win to roll on through to the semis. There, the No. 4 seeded Jackson upset top-seeded and #57-ranked Alex Holmgren of San Diego in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4 to leap into tomorrow's title match. There, he'll aim to follow in the footsteps of fellow Trojan Daniel Cukierman, who won the SoCal singles crown last year. Jackson faces No. 2 seed and #46 Filip Malbasic of Arizona in the title match tomorrow at 12:30 p.m.

Pulling double duty, Jackson also paired up with USC sophomore Bradley Frye for another win today, grabbing an 8-5 quarterfinal decision over San Diego's Holmgren/Schnaitter to take the top-seeded Trojans on into tomorrow's semifinals. Frye/Jackson take on Stanford's Rajesh/Turchetta at 9 a.m. tomorrow in the semis.
