USC Women's Tennis Beats Baylor at BNP Paribas Collegiate Open Tennis Challenge

The No. 17 ranked USC women's tennis team defeated Baylor tonight (March 16) at the BNP Paribas Collegiate Tennis Challenge in Indian Wells, Calif. With this win, the Women of Troy improve their record to 11-2 overall.
The Trojans nabbed a quick doubles win on court three as Branstine/Jaeger defeated Baylor's Adames/Parker 6-1. On court one, Trojan tandem No. 13 Kulikov/Valdes beat Bear pair Kraus/Sorokolet 6-1 to claim the doubles point.
The Women of Troy rolled the momentum from doubles into singles. Trojan junior Sydney Van Alphen sprinted through her match to defeat Katelyn Parker 6-0, 6-0 on court three.
USC freshman Danielle Willson collected a win by beating Stephanie Adames 6-2, 6-0 on court five to put another point on the board for the Trojans. With this win, Willson extends her winning streak to 12 matches and remains undefeated in dual matches (11-0).
Baylor's Kristina Sorokolet kept the Bears in the match by defeating USC sophomore Ana Neffa 6-2, 6-3 on court three.
On court four, Trojan junior Becca Weissmann fell to Baylor's Paula Barañano 1-6, 6-3, 6-2. This win made the overall match score 3-2 with USC in the lead.
Trojan freshman Salma Ewing clinched the match for the Women of Troy with her 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 victory over Jessica Hinojosa.
Up next, the Trojans turn their attention to a road trip to Eugene, Ore. where they will take on the Oregon Ducks on March 23 at 12 p.m. PT.
