Trojans Topped By Huskies 4-2

The USC women's tennis team fell to the Washington Huskies 4-2 in Seattle on Friday (April 12). After losing to Pepperdine on Tuesday (April 9), this is the first time the Women of Troy have lost two matches in a row this season. USC now holds a 16-5 overall record and is 6-2 in Pac-12 Conference play.
The Trojans came out strong in doubles as the duo of Branstine/Jaeger defeated Washington's Hance/Arakawa 6-3 on court three. USC's No. 10 ranked pair of Kulikov/Valdes beat the No. 26 ranked Husky team of Fung/Zupancic 6-3 to win the doubles point. USC entered singles with a 1-0 advantage.
The Trojans rolled with that momentum as Ana Neffa beat Katarina Kopaclic 6-1, 6-0 on court three to push USC ahead 2-0.
The Huskies fought back as Vanessa Wong beat No. 95 Angela Kulikov 6-3, 6-4 on court two. Washington continued to put points on the board as Sedona Gallagher beat USC's Becca Weissmann 7-5, 6-1 on court five.
Husky Nika Zupancic scored Washington its third point by defeating USC's Constance Branstine 6-0, 4-6, 6-1 on court six. Finally, Natsuho Arakawa beat USC's Danielle Willson 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 on court four to clinch the match for Washington.
The Women of Troy travel to Pullman, Wa. on Sunday to take on the Washington State Cougars on Sunday (April 14) at 11 a.m.
