Women of Troy Defeat Washington State 4-1

The No. 13 USC women's tennis team defeated No. 42 Washington State 4-1 on Sunday (April 14) in Pullman, Wash. At the Simmelink Tennis Courts at Hollingbery Fieldhouse. With the win, the Women of Troy are now 17-5 on the season and are 7-2 in Pac-12 Conference play.
Doubles began in the Trojans' favor as Weissmann/Willson defeated the Cougar pair of Lee/Ates 6-4 on court two. USC's Branstine/Jaeger closed out doubles with a win over Washington State's Bayerlova/Miksovska 7-5 on court three to claim the doubles point.
In the singles portion of the competition, the Cougars came back swinging as No. 52 Michaela Bahyerlova beat USC's No. 46 Salma Ewing 6-1, 6-3 to tie up the score at 1-1. Then the Trojans rattled off two more points as No. 95 Angela Kulikov beat Washington State's Hikaru Sato 2-6, 6-3, 6-0 on court two and Ana Neffa defeated Cougar Tiffany Mylonas 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 on court three.
Trojan Danielle Willson clinched the match for the Women of Troy by beating Washington State's Yang Lee 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 on court four.
USC returns home to Marks Stadium on Saturday April 20 to take on crosstown rival UCLA at 11 a.m. PT for their final regular season match.
