USC Women’s Tennis Gears Up For Fall Competition

LOS ANGELES--The USC women's tennis team kicks off the 2019 fall season this week as the Women of Troy split up the squad and head to two tournaments in two different states. Salma Ewing, Estella Jaeger, Sydney Van Alphen and Payton Saca will travel to San Francisco, Calif. to play in the Battle of the Bay (Sept. 20-22), while Angela Kulikov, Danielle Willson, Ana Neffa and Constance Branstine fly to Milwaukee to compete in the Milwaukee Classic (Sept. 20-23).

The Women of Troy will also be starting the fall season with new rankings, as the ITA released its preseason rankings on Tuesday (Sept. 17). Freshman Carson Branstine opens her collegiate career as the No. 2 ranked Freshman/Newcomer in the nation. Sophomore Salma Ewing leads the pack of returners ranking No. 36 in singles, followed by senior Angela Kulikov at No. 52, sophomore Danielle Willson at No. 104 and junior Ana Neffa at No. 111. In doubles, the duo of Angela Kulikov/Danielle Willson begin the year ranked No. 18.
