The Women of Troy defeated the Cardinal by a single goal for the third straight game
LOS ANGELES – The eighth-ranked USC lacrosse team (5-0, 1-0 Pac-12) emerged out of a back-and-forth battle against No. 25 Stanford (2-4, 0-1) with a 13-12 victory at McAlister Field on Friday, March 6. The win keeps the Women of Troy undefeated and marks the 100th-career victory for eighth-year head coach Lindsey Munday.

- Gr. attacker Emily Concialdi produced her third hat trick of the season (10th career) and led the Trojans with five points (3g, 2a). She was 2-for-2 from free position and picked up a draw control.
- Sr. attacker Hope Anhut had four points (3g, 1a) and registered her second hat trick this year (fourth career).
- Jr. goalie Riley Hertford recorded her fourth 11-save game of the season, caused three turnovers, and had two ground balls.
- Sr. midfielder Kerrigan Miller scored two goals and had the game-winner from free position. She picked up three ground balls, caused two turnovers, and won two draws.
- On defense, So. Kaleigh Brennan picked up three ground balls and caused one turnover; and Sr. Natalie Byrne had three ground balls. Jr. Lizzy Wagner caused two turnovers and picked up one ground ball.
- For the Cardinal, Daniella McMahon scored a hat trick after entering the game without a goal this season. Galen Lew also had a hat trick and added an assist. Kyra Pelton led all players with nine draw controls. Genesis Lucero had six draw controls and caused two turnovers. Trudie Grattan had seven saves with three ground balls.
- The teams went back and forth the entire way with 11 ties and a sixth lead change when Miller's game-winner found the back of the net from free position.
- USC was outshot for the first time this season (29-25) but the Trojans caused 11 of the Cardinal's 14 turnovers.
- Sr. attacker Izzy McMahon started the Trojans off with their first goal. Anhut scored off a dish from Concialdi to make the score 7-5; the largest lead for either team all day. Back-to-back goals by Lew knotted the score at seven-all, but junior midfielder Kelsey Huff went to goal unassisted to give USC an 8-7 lead at halftime.
- Stanford scored the first two goals of the second half to take a 9-8 lead and then got back-to-back goals off free-position attempts from Mikaela Watson for a 12-11 lead.
- Concialdi fed sophomore attacker Sophia Donovan for a goal at 5:01 before Miller's free-position goal crossed the line with 4:28 left to play. The Cardinal won the next draw and earned another free-position shot but Hertford made the final stop to preserve USC's lead. The Trojans needed to cause one more turnover and the clock ran out on Stanford.
- USC improved to 8-6 all-time against Stanford; including 5-1 in home games. The Trojans have beaten the Cardinal by a single goal in each of the last three, and it was the seventh time a USC-Stanford game was decided by a single goal.
- The Trojans improved to 46-11 (.807) all-time at McAlister Field and to 50-13 (.794) in all-time home games.
- The Women of Troy go to 8-0 in conference openers and improve to 52-12 in all-time conference games (.813).
- USC's 5-0 start is the second-best start in program history behind only 2016's 20-0 start.
- This win is the 100th-career victory for eighth-year head coach Lindsey Munday. She is 100-42 all-time (.704).
