No. 17 USC Women's Tennis Primed for Pac-12 Championships

Trojans to face No. 20 ASU on Thursday.
THIS WEEK
The No. 17 USC women's tennis team travels to Ojai this week to compete in the 2022 Pac-12 Championships. The tournament runs from April 20 through April 23, and the No. 4 seeded Women of Troy will play their first match on Thursday (Apr. 21) against No. 5 seed Arizona State at the Ojai Valley Athletic Club.
EVENT INFO
The 11 teams will compete in a tournament team format to determine the Pac-12 Champion and the automatic qualifier for the NCAA Championships. Matches will be played at the OVAC before relocating to Libbey Park for the championship round on Saturday. The event will be broadcasted on the Pac-12 Network (championship match), Pac-12 Now App and Pac-12.com. Scores and updates can be found here.
Tickets are available for fans who wish to attend the tournament. All attendees must provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 at both sites. Fans can visit here for more information.
ITA RANKINGS UPDATE
In the most recent ITA team rankings (April 20), the Women of Troy checked in at No. 17 with a record of 17-10, bumping up two spots from last weeks rankings.
The ITA also released new singles and doubles rankings today, with four Trojans holding national ranks. No. 7 Eryn Cayetano, No. 39 Salma Ewing, No. 96 Naomi Cheong and No. 97 Snow Han.
The Trojans also have two ranked duos – No. 53 Eryn Cayetano and Grace Piper and No. 63 Salma Ewing/Snow Han.
SCOUTING ARIZONA STATE
The No. 20 ranked Sun Devils are 14-6 (6-4) on the season and fell to the Trojans back in March when USC quieted ASU 4-1 at Marks Stadium. Since then, ASU has seen the return of powerhouse sophomore Marianna Argyrokastriti who was out with an ankle injury during the USC match.
ASU fell to both UCLA and Oregon, but defeated Cal and Stanford within the same weekend. This past weekend they wrapped the regular season with a victory over Arizona.
Currently, the Sun Devils have one nationally ranked singles players – No. 110 Guilia Morlet. They also boast the No. 21 ranked duo of Patricija Spaka/Domenika Turkovic.
