No. 19 USC Lacrosse Ready To Face East Coast Opponents In Doubleheader Weekend

LOS ANGELES- The 19th-ranked USC lacrosse team hosts two East Coast opponents in a two-game home stint as they face High Point (1-2) Friday (Mar. 3) and Villanova (4-0) Sunday (Mar. 5) at McAlister Field. The Women of Troy hope to continue their dominant two-game stretch, as they have won the last two games by a combined total of 17 goals.

After USC's 16-7 victory over San Diego State, midfielder Catherine Lord claimed her second straight Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week Award. Lord produced 9 draw controls, 3 groundballs and one caused turnover.
Olivia Dooley is the reigning Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year. The league's Defensive Player of the Year has come from USC two times since the award began being issued. Jackie Gilbert was chosen in 2019.
11th-year head coach Lindsey Munday is 125-55 (.694) all-time and was the Pac-12's Coach of the Year in 2019.

USC will welcome two differing opponents, as the Panthers of High Point have dropped two games so far, including a loss to No. 13 James Madison. On the other end, Villanova is currently 4-0 and is led by Sydney Pappas, who claimed co-offensive national player of the week after posting 11 goals in two games.

The Women of Troy will be led by an offensive effort, including several student-athletes who can make an immediate difference. Five players have joined the hat trick club in the past two games, and three have scored more than four goals. That bunch includes junior Shelby Tilton, who currently leads the team with six goals.
