No. 19 USC Lacrosse Hits the Road For A Bay Area Doubleheader

LOS ANGELES- The 18th-ranked USC lacrosse (6-2, 1-0 Pac-12) starts its first conference road trip, as it travels to Berkley and Stanford to face California (3-6, 1-2 Pac-12) and Stanford (4-5, 2-1 Pac-12). The Women of Troy battle with the Golden Bears starting Friday at 3 p.m. (Mar. 31) at California Memorial Stadium and the Cardinal Sunday at 1 p.m. (Apr. 2) at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium.

Those stats, combined with the fact that USC surrendered only 17 goals in two games, led the midfielder to her third Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honor. On the offensive end, redshirt sophomore Isabelle Vitale hit 100 career points this past weekend, as she posted 12 points in two games.

The Women of Troy will finally leave their home after a sensational start to the Pac-12 season as they head to the Bay for California and Stanford. The main matchup to highlight for the weekend will be against the Cardinal, as Stanford was previously selected to win the Pac-12 regular season title. While that was the plan heading in, it hasn't lived up to the hype just yet, as the Cardinal suffered an early upset at the hands of Colorado. Besides that game, Stanford has already showcased their firepower by averaging 19 goals in their two conference wins against California and Oregon. On the Golden Bears side, they hope to give new head coach Jennifer Wong her second conference win, as they already won a thriller against Oregon earlier in the season.
