USC Women's Golf Cruises into Chicago for the Windy City Classic

Trojans search for tournament title No. 2 as they head to Chicago for the two-day event (Oct. 2-3)
LOS ANGELES -Â The USC women's golf team, fresh from a team title at the Leadership and Golf Invitational (-27 total), travels to Chicago to compete in the Windy City Classic at the Glen View Club on Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 2-3).Â

COMPETITIVE SLATE: Arizona, Arizona State, Auburn, Duke, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa State, Louisville, *Northwestern, Oregon, Texas, UCLA, USC, Virginia, Wake Forest

WHERE:Â Glen View Club (Par 72, 6,338 yards).

WHEN:Â The two-day event will begin on Monday, Oct. 1, with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start and features two consecutive rounds, while the final round will conclude on Tuesday, Oct. 2.

Avery comes into her second event of the season after claiming the individual title at the Leadership and Golf Invitational (68-72-67; -9). The junior's two rounds of 60 added to her career total, as she broke the program record for the most 60s in a career (23). These factors allowed the Trojan's No. 1 to earn her second career Pac-12 Golfer of the Week Award on Sept. 26.Â

Park stayed alongside Avery throughout the first tournament, as she finished tied for second alongside teammate Navarrosa. The sophomore finished seven-under-par after she went 70-70-69 (-7) in her three rounds at Chambers Bay. This past tournament marked her third time tying for second in a tournament, as she last finished tied for second at the NCAA Championships.Â

Kou is making her first start of the season. The junior enters her first tournament ranked as the No. 138 amateur according to the WAGR.

Brianna Navarrosa

Navarrosa comes into her second tournament after recording one of the best finishes in her career; the senior tied Park for second at the Leadership and Golf Invitational with a seven-under-par finish (71-71-67).Â

Wang recorded her first career top-five finish as she posted a 69-72-73 (-2) tournament. The senior found her stride at the Leadership and Golf Invitational, as she earned the final counting score and helped lead the Trojans to a 31-stroke victory over the second team in the field.Â

Bailey Shoemaker

Shoemaker makes her second career appearance, as she was part of the starting five at Chambers Bay. The freshman makes her first appearance as an individual scorer and will compete as a non-counting participant in Chicago. Shoemaker made it into the top 15 in Washington, finishing one over par (69-74-74).Â
