USC’s top three finishers set 6K season or personal bests
Leah Disher ran her USC-best 6K time to lead the Trojans to a 33rd-place finish at the 2024 NCAA West Regional held at the Colfax Golf Club in Colfax, Wash. today (Nov. 15). USC's top three finishers at the regional all posted season or career-best 6K times.
The graduate student Disher was USC's top finisher with a season-best time of 22:12.2 to finish 157th overall. Disher improved 10 positions during the final kilometer of the race. Disher improved on her previous season-best 6K cross country best by 36 seconds, set at the Big Ten Championships two weeks ago. Disher has a personal-best 6K time of 21:55.4 set at the 2021 ACC Cross Country Championships.
Graduate student Helena Teixeira-Dasilva finished the course in with a PR of 22:18.2, good for second among the Trojans and 172nd overall. Teixeira-Dasilva made it 4-for-4 in finishing among USC's top two runners in each meet this season.
Graduate student Olivia Schmitt was the third Trojan to cross the line, placing 204th overall with a personal-best time of 22:41.9. Schmitt moved up nine positions in the final kilometer.
Senior Giovanna Pisano was right behind her in 212th place with a time of 22:46.7, just off her season-best time.
Redshirt junior Jacqueline Duarte was the Trojans' fifth and final runner and she placed 249th overall with a time of 23:59.6.
