No. 4 USC Women’s Swimming and Diving Downs UCLA as Trojans Wrap Up Regular Season Undefeated

Women of Troy finish the regular season undefeated (9-0) for the first time in program history.
LOS ANGELES – The No. 4 USC women's swim and dive team capped a historic regular season with a 164-136 win over crosstown rival UCLA on Friday, Feb. 9 at the Spieker Aquatics Center. With the win, the Women of Troy finish the regular season undefeated for the first time in program history.
USC's all-time record against UCLA now stands at 32-17-1, with the Women of Troy claiming the last three matchups.
The Trojans swept both relays on Friday, claiming the opening relay in 1:36.36 as Caroline Famous, Kaitlyn Dobler, Anicka Delgado and Vasilissa Buinaia combined to win the 200y medley relay. USC closed out the meet with a victory in the 200y free relay as Buinaia, Delgado, Claire Tuggle and Minna Abraham posted a 1:29.16.
Famous, who is coming off her first career Pac-12 Swimmer of the Week honor, continued her winning ways as she claimed the 100y back in a pool record time of 51.82. She also won the 100y butterfly (51.93) and was second in the 50y free (22.41).
USC swept the 1000y freestyle behind Sophia Kudryashova (9:46.98), Tuggle (9:49.74) and Marlene Kahler (9:55.02). Tuggle would later capture the 500y free in 4:42.94.
Freshman phenom Abraham claimed both the 100y (48.45) and 200y freestyle (1:44.99), and was third in the 200y IM (1:58.96).
Dobler, who is undefeated in breaststroke events in 2024, captured both the 100y breaststroke (59.46) and 200y breaststroke (2:09.42).
In the diving well, USC fifth-year Nike Agunbiade captured the 1-meter competition with 320.03 points. Agunbiade was also third on 3-meter with 305.10 points.
Tomorrow, the USC women's diving squad will compete in a platform only exhibition against the Bruins at 9 a.m. at the Spieker Aquatics Center. No live stream or results will be available.
