No. 8 USC Falls to Crosstown Rival No. 32 UCLA

Senior Naomi Cheong downed No. 124 ranked Elise Wagle, 6-3, 6-2
LOS ANGELES – The No. 8 ranked USC women's tennis team fell to UCLA 5-2 on Friday, Mar. 1, at the Los Angeles Tennis Center in Westwood, California.
The match began with the Trojans dropping the doubles point. USC's pair of Lily Fairclough and McKenna Koenig lost against Kimmi Hance and Anne-Christine Lutkeymeyer 6-2 on court two. Next, No. 29 ranked doubles pair of Parker Fry and Grace Piper were defeated by Ahmani Guichard and Sasha Vagramov 7-6 (5) to clinch the doubles point for the Bruins on court three.
The Trojans took two of the six singles matches played. USC fifth-year No. 90 Eryn Cayetano downed Anne-Christine Lutkemeyer 6-3, 6-4 on court four. Senior Naomi Cheong carried the momentum to a win over No. 124 ranked Elise Wagle, 6-3,6-2 on court 5.
After the wins on courts four and five, USC failed to put any additional points on the board.
USC is back in action on Monday, March 4, as the Trojans host UCSB for a 10:30 a.m. PT matchup at Marks Tennis Stadium.
