Stanford Evens Series With 7-1 Win Over USC Baseball

STANFORD, Calif. – The USC baseball team dropped the second game of its series at Stanford on Saturday afternoon, falling 7-1 to even the series and set up a rubber match on Sunday.
The Trojans fall to 5-13 overall and 2-3 in Pac-12 play with the loss. Stanford improves to 9-8 overall and 3-2 in Pac-12 play.
After Stanford scored in the first inning, Jacob Galloway singled home Austin Overn to tie it up for USC in the third. The Cardinal would score twice in the fourth, however, and then add runs in both the fifth and sixth to make it 5-1. Two more runs in the seventh for the home team put the game out of reach. USC did load the bases with two outs in the ninth, but nothing came of it.
USC used six pitchers in the contest. Christian Lim threw 7.0 innings to pick up the win for Stanford. Kassius Thomas tossed the final two frames out of the pen for the home team.
