No. 11 USC Women's Tennis Falls 4-2 to No. 3 Stanford During Pac-12 Tournament Semifinal

OJAI – The No. 11 ranked USC Women's Tennis team fell to No. 3 ranked Stanford during the Pac-12 Tournament Semifinal as the Trojans fell 4-2 to the Cardinal on Friday, April 26.Â

The loss puts USC at 18-8, while Stanford improves to 21-2 and advances to tomorrow's Pac-12 Tournament Championship Final.Â

USC picked up the doubles point early as Snow Han and Emma Charney downed Stanford's Hui/Xu 6-4 on court three and No. 69 ranked Grace Piper and Parker Fry beat Blake/Blokhina 6-3 on court tow.Â

The Cardinal then took five of six first sets and got a quick victory from No. 34 Angelic Blake on center court over No. 90 Snow Han 6-0, 6-2. No. 96 Eryn Cayetano then recorded USC's lone singles win of the day on court four as she took down No. 121 Alexis Blokhina 6-3, 6-3.Â

Cayetano's point would be USC's last of the afternoon as Stanford would take courts five, two and three to win the match.Â

No. 30 ranked Alexandra Yepifanova downed No. 62 ranked Grace Piper 6-2, 2-6, 6-1 on court three to clinch the victory for Stanford.Â

USC now turns their attention to the NCAA Tournament where the Trojans await their fate. The NCAA Selection Show will take place Monday, April 29 at 3 p.m. PT.Â
