USC Rowing Finishes Fifth At Pac-12 Championships

USC’s Varsity Four boat took fourth to help lead the Women of Troy at Lake Natoma.
SACRAMENTO, CALIF. – The USC women's rowing team took fifth place overall at the 2024 Pac-12 Championships on the waters of Lake Natoma today. USC entered four boats in the event: the Varsity Four, Second Varsity Eight, Varsity Eight and Third Varsity Eight. The Varsity Eight finished sixth, the Second Varsity Eight finished sixth, the Varsity Four finished fourth, and the Third Varsity Eight finished fifth.
WHAT HAPPENED
- The Third Varsity Eight kicked off the championships for the Trojans and came in at 7:04.53 for fifth place, less than six seconds behind fourth-place UCLA, with Stanford winning the 3V8 title in a time of 6:37.54.
- The Varsity Four was next on the water for the Trojans. Sophomore Sofia Cabrera coxed the Women of Troy to fourth place at 7:38.76. Oregon State was five seconds behind USC, while Stanford claimed the V4 title in a winning time of 7:11.83.
- The Second Varsity Eight finished in sixth place for USC at 6:54.62, just over a second behind fifth-place UCLA, with Stanford posting a winning time of 6:28.34.
- The Varsity Eight finished the day for the Trojans, coming in sixth at 6:48.21. USC was under two seconds off of Washington's fifth-place finish, while Stanford won the V8 title in a time of 6:26.55.
- So. Sofia Cabrera coxed for the Trojan's Third Varsity Eight. Kirstin George sat in the stroke seat for the Trojan boat that included Evita Franckevica, Michaela Banta, Sasha Henry, Szonja Balazs, Regan Mary Cronin and Rhese Abrams, and with Tala Ransweiler in the bow seat.
- So. Sage Saperstein coxed for the Varsity Four. Martina Scarpello, Abbie Diemer and Anna Molnar filled the boat, with Maeve Clifford in the bow seat.
- Fr. Ellen Ariathurai coxed for the Trojan's Second Varsity Eight. Grace Eamer sat in the stroke seat for the Trojan boat that included Chloe Amling, Anastasiia Slivina, Isabella Korellis, Clare Widzgowski, Amy Clare Naughton and Julia Karten, and with Alex DeLisle in the bow seat.
- Sr. Eden Cooper-Squires coxed for the Varsity 8. In the stroke seat was Celia Marino. Following Marino were Ingrid Brast, Grete Alttoa, Zoe McCutcheon, Annabel Aron, Isabella Lysaker and Chiara Meakin, and in the bow was Raquel Rodriguez.
