USC Women’s Golf Heads to Big Ten Country for Windy City Collegiate Classic

Fresh off a team title at the Leadership and Golf Invitational the Trojans will hope to build on last years ninth place finish at the Windy City Collegiate Classic
LOS ANGELES - USC women's golf hopes to build on their opening tournament victory as they compete in their second tournament, the Windy City Collegiate Classic. The Trojans are coming off of a strong season opener, as they won the Leadership and Golf Invitational by nine strokes, and junior Catherine Park took home the individual title. At the Windy City Collegiate Classic, they will take on a 15-team tournament starting Monday, Sept. 30, through Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Westmoreland C.C. in Wilmette, Ill.
USC returns to this event, having earned a top-ten finish last year and accumulating a score of four-under-par as a squad. Junior Catherine Park led the Women of Troy, finishing in a tie for 20th.
Competitive Slate (15): *Northwestern, Arizona, Arizona State, Augusta, Duke, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa State, Oregon, Purdue, South Carolina, USC, UCLA, Virginia, Wake Forest

Where: Westmoreland C.C. (Par 72 6,519 yards).
When: The two-day event will begin Monday, Sept. 30, at 7:30 a.m. CT, with the second round following the conclusion of the first. The third round will be played on Tuesday, Oct. 1, starting at 7:30 a.m.

Catherine Park
The preseason All-American did not disappoint in her 2024-25 opener (Leadership and Golf Invitational), as she claimed her fourth career individual title. Park helped the Trojans to an opening season team victory as she tied San Francisco's Riana Mission at eight-under-par for the individual crown. Park rallied after being five strokes back in the second round, as she posted a 68 (-4) in the final round. The junior now ranks tied for sixth in program history for tournament titles, as she was also named Big Ten Player of the Week on Sept. 19.
Bailey Shoemaker
The sophomore produced her fourth career top-ten finish as she tied for sixth in the Leadership and Golf Invitational at three-under par. Shoemaker opened up the year with a 73 (+1) but quickly came back with two straight rounds under par, 70-70, to put her second on the team.
Xin (Cindy) Kou
The senior had some ups and downs at the Leadership and Golf Invitational but finished in the top 25 to open the season. Kou posted one of the best rounds for the Trojans, carding a 67 (-5) in the second round. She now has 15 top-25 placements for her career.
Jasmine Koo
Koo made her collegiate debut at the Leadership and Golf Invitational and immediately had an impact with a top-15 finish. The freshman carded one round under par (second round, 71 (-1)) and finished two-over par for the tournament.
Kylie Chong
Chong joined teammate Koo as she also made her collegiate debut. The freshman ended at the bottom of the lineup as she was 14-over par for the tournament and tied for 61st.
