USC Women's Soccer Falls to Northwestern in Big Ten Tournament

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The USC women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Northwestern in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday night at Purdue's Folk Field.
The Trojans fall to 7-7-3 with the loss, while Northwestern moves to 9-3-7 with the win.
The Trojans and Wildcats played even through most of the evening, but Northwestern found a goal in the 85th minute when Megan Norkett picked off a pass and scored on a breakaway.
USC held 58% of the possession in the match and outshot the Wildcats 17-12, including putting up 15 shots in the second half, but the Trojans were unable break through. Eighth of USC's shots were on target, with seven on frame in the second half. The Trojans also had a 5-1 corner kick advantage.
