November 12, 2025 | Women's Basketball
LOS ANGELES — USC women's basketball head coach Lindsay Gottlieb has announced the signing of Saniyah Halland Sitaya Fagan, two of the most nationally renowned prospects in the Class of 2026. Hall, the No. 1ranked recruit in the country, and Fagan, a five-star international standout from Australia, further elevate a USC program already rising among the top tiers of women's college basketball.
"I mean what can I say, we could not be more excited with our class of 2026," said fifth year USC women's basketball head coach Lindsay Gottlieb. "We think we have the best class in the country and the best duo in the country. Both for what they bring as humans and as talented athletes, but also how they fit with what we are as a program and what we are aiming to become."
With Hall and Fagan set to join forces with current Trojans JuJu Watkins, Jazzy Davidson, and Kennedy Smith, USC is positioned to feature one of the most dynamic and talented lineups in the nation when the 2026–27 season arrives.
"I think both Saniyah and Sataya are incredible individual talents, but the way that they fit; they're positionless, they're skilled and they're athletic. They're going to help us get to the next level, are going to fit in seamlessly with who we have and what we're building, and I think the best is in front of us for the Trojan women's basketball program."
SANIYAH HALL | 6-1 | Lorain, Ohio (SPIRE Academy)
Hall becomes USC's third No. 1 ranked recruit in four years, continuing the program's unprecedented run of elite recruiting success. Widely considered one of the most complete prospects in recent memory, Hall brings a versatile two-way game defined by scoring ability, defensive intensity and playmaking instincts.
"Saniyah is the No. 1 player in the country for a reason," said Gottlieb. "She is the complete modern basketball player. She can score the ball at every level, around the rim, from three and the mid-range. She's just a really, really talented player."
Hall recently starred on the international stage, earning Most Valuable Player honors at the FIBA U19 World Cup.
Competing at just 16 years old, she led Team USA in scoring (averaged a USA U19 scoring record of 19.9 ppg) and ranked among the top performers in rebounds, steals and overall impact. She played alongside current Trojan Jazzy Davidson during the event, anchoring a USA squad that captured the world title.
The 2025 MaxPreps National Junior of the Year earned Naismith Trophy First Team All-America honors last season at Montverde Academy in Florida. There she averaged 20.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.8 steals and 1.3 blocks per game, helping the Eagles go 26-2 and advance to the Chipotle National Championship game.
"When we were recruiting Saniyah, we were really excited about someone who can play on all spots of the floor and just wanted to be someone who can give us something positive on the offensive end and the defensive end," said USC assistant coach Willnett Crockett of Hall.
Earlier today, Hall was named to the 2025-26 Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Girls High School Player of the Year Watch List, as announced by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.
"Saniyah is particularly fitted to our pro-style offense because she plays like a pro," said Gottlieb of Hall. "I think she's going to fit right into what the Trojan family is all about. She's extremely humble and fun to be around and yet understands her goals and her opportunities on the basketball court, where she can shine with her team around her at the highest level."
SITAYA FAGAN | 6-4 | Melbourne, Australia
Fagan is one of the most highly regarded young players to emerge from Australia in recent years. A versatile 6-foot-4 playmaker with the ability to handle the ball, defend multiple positions and impact the game on both ends, Fagan has already accumulated extensive international experience at the highest level.
"Tay [Sitaya] is such a unique, versatile and super athletic talent," said Gottlieb of Fagan. "She really is positionless, and I'm really looking forward to figuring out all the ways that we can use her in our defense and our offense."
Fagan averaged 12.3 points and 5.3 rebounds for Australia at the FIBA U19 World Cup, helping her team reach the gold medal game. The Australian star previously earned gold medals at both the FIBA U16 Asian Championship (2023) and the FIBA U15 Oceania Championship (2022).
"The courage it takes to come to the U.S. and realize your dreams over here, speaks to how she'll fit in with this team on and off the court. I think LA is going to love her and think the Trojan family is going to embrace her."
Fagan's development has continued at Basketball Australia's Centre of Excellence, a training environment that has produced Olympians and WNBA talent.
"We appreciate Tay's versatility but also her work ethic," said USC women's basketball assistant coach Nikki Blue. "She has a high basketball IQ and just her competitive toughness and her will to win is what truly sets her apart and why she's considered one of the best in the world."
Fagan will join the Trojans in January of 2026 and will train alongside the team in preparation for her collegiate debut in the fall.
