November 13, 2025 | Men's Volleyball
The Trojans signed their first three players to the 2026-27 freshman class
LOS ANGELES – USC men's volleyball has received signed financial aid agreements from Greyson Covay (Aurora, Ill./Oswego HS), Blake Fahlbusch (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Loyola HS), and Noah Meabon (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport HS); a trio of talented athletes set to join the program as freshman in the fall of 2026, head coach Jeff Nygaard announced on Thursday, Nov. 13.
"The Trojan Family is excited to welcome these three amazing young men," said Nygaard. "What we are building here, and the direction of our program is only made better with the addition of Greyson, Blake, and Noah. My staff and I—we believe in this group and are excited to have them in the gym, to train them, and to watch them grow as members of our team next fall. Fight On!"
Covay—a 6-7 setter—is one of the nation's top athletes at his position in the class of 2026. He prepped at Oswego High School (Oswego, Ill.) and played club volleyball for Sports Performance, one of the Midwest's most decorated programs. Covay was a four-time JVA All-American (2022-25) and was named MVP of the Suburban Prairie Conference. He earned a spot on the 2025 AAU Nationals All-American Team and helped his teams to multiple top finishes, including third place at the AAU 18 Open and first place at the 2025 Windy City JVA tournament. Covay was also MVP of the 2024 Midwest Point Series and helped lead his team win the Brew City Battle. He is a four-time member of USA Volleyball's National Team Development Program and is recognized as one of the premier young setters in the country.
Fahlbusch—a 6-8 outside hitter—prepped at Loyola High School and brings extensive international and championship experience. He is a seven-time member of USA Volleyball's National Team Development Program and was named MVP of the 2025 U19 Pan American Cup, where he helped lead Team USA to gold medals. Fahlbusch also captured first-team All-America honors at the 2022 and 2025 AAU National Championships, where his team claimed national titles each time. At Loyola, Fahlbusch was instrumental in helping his team secure back-to-back CIF Championships (2023, 2024) and earned California High School All-America honors three times (2023-25).
Meabon—a 6-5 opposite hitter—brings multi-sport athleticism and stands out for his magnetic presence and fierce competitive drive. He helped lead Fairport High School to the 2023 New York State championship and earned first-team all-tournament honors and second-team All-State recognition. As a senior, Meabon was named first-team All-State and landed on Volleyball Magazine's prestigious Fab 50 list of top national prospects. Meabon has been a member of USA Volleyball's National Team Development Program from 2023-25 and won gold with the U19 squad at the 2024 NORCECA Championship and later earned a roster spot on the 2025 U19 World Championship team.
The Trojans were 21-7 in 2024 and finished second in the MPSF regular-season standings (8-4). USC plays its second fall tournament on Saturday (Nov. 15) and will conclude fall play with two days at the UCLA Tournament Nov. 21-22 at Pauley Pavilion. The Trojans open the 2026 season at home on Jan. 9 as hosts to Dominican at the Galen Center Pavilion. The Men of Troy will play 17 home matches in the spring and look to improve on a stellar finish in 2024.
