USC’s Emma Charney and Jana Hossam Earn ITA All-American Honors

ORLANDO, Fla. - USC senior Emma Charney and sophomore Jana Hossam earned ITA All-America honors on Wednesday afternoon, as both Trojans advanced to the NCAA Singles Championship Tournament Round of 16.
Charney opened up the meeting with a win over Georgia's [5-8] Anastasiia Gureva 6-3, 7-5 to advance to the NCAA Singles Round of 16. With the win, Charney became USC's 101st All-American in USC women's tennis history.
Just a few minutes later, sophomore Hossam became USC's 102nd All-American as the Trojan defeated North Carolina's Ange Boy Kajuru 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the sweet sixteen.
USC's duo's also posted wins on Wednesday afternoon, as both Trojan pairings advanced to the NCAA Doubles Championships Tournament Round of 16. Junior Lily Fairclough and freshman Dani Borruel teamed up to take down Texas Tech's Hailey Murphy and Yekaterina Dmitrichenko 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 [10-7]. A little while later, sophomore Hossam and freshman Krisha Mahendran defeated Georgia's Aysegui Mert and Anastasiia Gureva in straight sets, 6-3,6-0.
Tomorrow, both pairs will compete in the round of 16, with spots in the quarterfinals and All-America honors on the line.
