USC’s Emma Charney, Immi Haddad Reach Singles Quarterfinals at Battle in the Bay Classic

Trojans Charney and Fairclough advance to tournament quarterfinal.
SAN FRANCISCO – USC women's tennis veterans Emma Charney and Immi Haddad reached the singles quarterfinals at the Battle in the Bay Classic, highlighting the Women of Troy's efforts over the weekend at the California Tennis Club.
On Thursday, the Women of Troy were unblemished in singles play, with No. 47 Charney, No. 62 Haddad, Fairclough and Jana Hossam all winning their respective opening matches. Charney and Haddad would battle their way into the quarterfinals while Fairclough and Hossam would fall in the round of 16.
USC's No. 15 ranked pair of Emma Charney and Lily Fairclough led USC in doubles, reaching the quarterfinals as the No. 1 seeded pair in the tournament.
The Trojans now turn their attention to the upcoming ITA All-American Championships in Cary, N.C. The event runs Sept. 20 through Sept. 28 at Cary Tennis Park. Ten singles and four doubles will earn bids into the NCAA Individual Championships in November.
