USC Women's Tennis Headed to ITA All-American Championships
September 19, 2025 | Women's Tennis
Three Trojans will travel to North Carolina with NCAA Individual Championship bids up for grabs.
LOS ANGELES - USC Women's Tennis has its first big opportunity of the season this weekend as the Trojans head to Cary, N.C. for the ITA All-American Championships, running Sat., Sept. 21 through Sun., Sept. 29. The week-long event will be held at the Cary Tennis Park.Â
Â
Senior Emma Charney will lead the way for the Trojans in the singles main draw. The 2025 First Team All-Big Ten selection started her season by reaching the Battle in the Bay singles quarterfinals. In the 2024 ITA All-American Championships, Charney came into the tournament ranked #15, but was upset in the Round of 64. In the 2023 tournament, she captured the ITA All-American doubles consolation title alongside Eryn Cayetano. Charney enters main draw play as the No. 47 ranked singles player in the ITA preseason rankings, hoping to avenge last year's early loss to secure her spot in the NCAA Championships later this fall.
Â
Playing alongside Charney in the doubles tournament will be junior Lily Fairclough. Fairclough reached the semifinals of the 2024 ITA All-American Championships, earning a bid to the NCAA Doubles Championships with her then-partner Grace Piper. Fairclough and Charney enter the tournament as the No. 15 ranked pair in the ITA doubles preseason rankings and will begin play in the main draw on Wednesday.Â
Â
The final Trojan competing in Cary is junior Immi Haddad. Haddad went on an impressive run at last year's ITA All-American Championships, winning five straight matches to reach the Round of 32 in the main draw, after starting in the pre-qualifying stage. Haddad, ranked No. 62 in the ITA preseason singles rankings, will begin play in the qualifying stage this year.Â
Â
This week's tournament offers 10 qualifying spots in the women's NCAA singles championship draw (eight main draw quarterfinalists & two feed-in consolation finalists), while four doubles teams will qualify for the National Championship bracket (main draw semifinalists).
