
USC Women's Golf Sweeps Big Ten Weekly Awards

Jasmine Koo and Kylie Chong were Co-Golfers of the Week while Sarah Hammett was named Freshman of the Week.
ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference announced this week's recipients for the Golfers and Freshman of the Week. Following record-breaking performances, USC Women's Golf's Jasmine Koo and Kylie Chong were named as Co-Golfers of the Week while Sarah Hammett received Freshman of the Week honors.
Koo and Chong were steady throughout the entire tournament as they both finished 13 under par for the three rounds, which are among the Top Five best performances in USC history.
Koo stayed in the 60s for all three rounds, starting the tournament shooting a 67, followed by back-to-back 68s in the final two rounds. The Cerritos, California, native had 19 birdies throughout the tournament and one eagle, which she got on the last hole to tie her teammate for first place. This is the fifth first-place finish of her collegiate career.
Chong started the tournament in second place after shooting at 66 in the first round of play. From there, the Torrance, California, native went two under par for the second round and then came back by going five under par. With 16 birdies and only three bogeys, she remained steady throughout the tournament to secure the win. This is the first time she has finished in first place in her collegiate career.
Also garnering Freshman of the Week honors is Sarah Hammett. The Gold Coast, Australia, native wrapped up her second tournament with the Trojans by finishing in 11th place. She stayed under par all tournament long, finishing at five under par. She started the tournament by going one under par, then followed that up with back-to-back 70s in the second and third rounds. Along the way, she grabbed eight birdies, which is double the amount from her last tournament.
The Women of Troy will be back in action from Oct. 17-19 as they head to the Stanford Intercollegiate.
