No. 2 USC Women's Golf Falls In Semifinal Match To Northwestern
October 28, 2025 | Women's Golf
ATLANTA – USC Women's Golf competed in the semifinals of the East Lake Cup against Northwestern, falling 4-1 to the Wildcats.
Jasmine Koo was the only Trojan to win her match today, facing off against Hsin Tai Lin. Koo had a rough start to the day, getting three bogeys in the first eight holes, allowing Lin to go 3UP. The roles began to change on the ninth hole. Koo cleaned up her game while Lin started registering the bogeys. This allowed Koo to tie up the match on the 16th hole. The two couldn't decide the winner in 18, so they went two more holes before a victor could be decided, and that was Koo. She hit par while Lin got a bogey, resulting in Koo taking this round 1UP.
Elise Lee also battled into extra holes against her former team. The lead exchanged through most of the match, but Lee's opponent, Arianna Lau, had the advantage heading into the final hole. This is when Lee hit par and Lau got a bogey, causing this match to go an extra hole. Lee ended up with a bogey while Lau hit par, resulting in Northwestern securing that round.
Along the way, Catherine Park, Sarah Hammett and Kylie Chong lost their matches to their respective opponents. With this result, USC lost the semifinal match 4-1, sending them to the consolation match to face Florida State tomorrow morning, Oct. 29.
Due to expected storms, the tournament start time has moved up to 5:20 a.m. PT. Fans can watch the action on the Golf Channel or follow along on Clippd.
