September 19, 2026 | Women's Golf
The Women of Troy look to go back-to-back as champions in a competitive field.
LOS ANGELES — The No. 2 USC women's golf team continues its 2026-27 season at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic at Red Sky Golf Club in Wolcott, Colorado.
USC will face off against 19 teams in the 54-hole tournament, beginning on Monday, Sept. 21 at 9:00 a.m. PT. All pertinent links can be found on the women's golf team's schedule page on usctrojans.com.
The Trojans will battle a competitive field at the Red Sky Classic: five of USC's 19 opponents are ranked in both Golfweek and Golf Channel's preseason polls, and 11 competed in the NCAA postseason last year. USC's main challengers are Texas A&M (Golfweek No. 5/Golf Channel No. 4), Pepperdine (No. 14/13), and LSU (No. 16/14).
The Trojans were victorious last season at the Red Sky Classic, shooting a team score of 819 (-45), setting multiple records. The Trojans' final score broke the tournament record by 13 strokes. The Women of Troy also set school records by going 21 under par in the final round and finishing 45 under par for the entire tournament. Elise Lee, Jasmine Koo, Kylie Chong and Sarah Hammett return to the Centennial State to defend their team title.
Chong and Koo were crowned co-champions, finishing at 13 under par, tying the tournament individual record of 203. Lee finished in seventh place (-8), and Hammett finished in 11th (-5).
USC opened up its season two weeks ago at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate. The Trojans finished second as a team in a competitive field, firing a tournament-low 273 (-15) in the final round.
All five Trojans finished in the top 25, led by sophomore Sarah Hammett. Hammett finished in fourth with a 212 (-4), one of the best results of her collegiate career. It was the second time she finished as the low scorer for the Trojans, and her 212 was the best 54-hole score of her career, including a final-round 67, one stroke better than her previous collegiate best.
The rest of the Trojan lineup played well, with USC and tournament champion Wake Forest being the only teams to have all five players finish in the top 25. Bailey Shoemaker and Elise Lee finished tied for 11th with 216. Shoemaker shot rounds of 72-76-68 and finished even-par for the tournament. Lee shot a final-round 70 (-2) to close out her week in Minnesota.
Rounding out the team, All-American juniors Jasmine Koo and Kylie Chong finished at 1 over par (217) and 2 over par (218), respectively. After opening with a round of 73, Koo went low in round two with a 3-under-par 69. She tied for 15th after a round of 75 in the final round. Chong struggled in her opening round in the season opener, but battled back with rounds of 72 and 68 in rounds two and three, totaling nine birdies over those 36 holes.
This tournament also marks the collegiate debut for freshman Kaili Xiao, the 2025 Women's California Open Champion who reclassified and signed with the Trojans this past spring. She will play in the fifth spot of the Trojan lineup.
