No. 2 USC Women's Golf Wins Consolation Match Against Florida State

The Women of Troy took down the Seminoles 4-1.
ATLANTA – No. 2 USC Women's Golf competed in the consolation match on the final day of the East Lake Cup, taking down the Florida State Seminoles 4-1. With this win, the Trojans finished the tournament in third place.
The Women of Troy maintained control from the very start of this match, with one of the most dominant performances coming from Sarah Hammett. She jumped on her opponent early, grabbing the lead from the very first hole. She remained steady throughout most of the match, allowing her opponent to make the mistakes. The freshman secured her first match play win 3&2.
Catherine Park also played well in her match. She started strong with a birdie to win the first hole. Even though Alexandra Gazzoli of Florida State tied up the match, it wasn't for long. Park rallied back to take the lead and win the match 3&1 in 17 holes.
Also securing wins for the Trojans were Jasmine Koo and Elise Lee, who won 1UP and 3&2, respectively.
This tournament rounded out USC's fall slate. The Women of Troy will return to action on Jan. 23 as they compete in the Battle of LA against UCLA.
