Second Half Surge Leads No. 3 USC Men's Water Polo Past No. 10 Pacific, 14-7

STOCKTON, Calif. -- The No. 3 USC men's water polo team scored 10 goals in the second half to defeat No. 10 Pacific, 14-7, on the road Friday night in Stockton.
The Trojans showcased a well-rounded offensive performance, with standout player Robert Lopez Duart scoring four goals, while Luke Nelson added three more and Gavin Conant scored two. USC improves to 11-1 with the victory, while the Tigers fall to 6-3.
The first period opened with an evenly matched contest, both teams scoring two goals apiece. Nelson and Duart found the net, but Pacific's Ori Buzaglo and Apostolos Georgaras kept pace. Another 2-2 period in the second saw USC goals from Duart and Mihailo Vukazic as the teams went into the half tied 4-4.
The Trojans exploded in the third period, scoring five goals to Pacific's one, driven by contributions from Andrej Grgurevic and Conant. This offensive surge effectively sealed the game for USC, as the Trojans continued to dominate in the final frame, adding another five goals.
Despite the loss, Georgaras led the Tigers with three goals. Charles Mills made 13 saves for USC, while Kiss Gergely recorded four saves for Pacific.
NEXT: The Trojans remain in Northern California for a matchup with No. 8 UC Davis on Sunday at 12 p.m.
