MINNEAPOLIS - No. 21 USC came up short Sunday afternoon, falling 63–62 to Minnesota at Williams Arena in a tightly contested Big Ten matchup. With the loss, the Trojans drop to 10-6 overall and 2-3 in Big Ten play.

USC flipped the script in the second quarter behind a dominant stretch from freshman Jazzy Davidson. Davidson hit back-to-back threes to pull USC within 23–16, then sparked a surge that included triples from Jones and sophomore Dayana Medes to trim the deficit to one. Davidson gave the Trojans their first lead of the game at the 5:52 mark with her third three of the quarter, and USC followed with a decisive 19–0 run to build a 32–23 advantage. Davidson poured in a game-high 15 points in the period on near-perfect shooting, while senior Kara Dunn matched her season high with three steals in the first half. USC took a 34–30 lead into the break.
Minnesota responded in the third, but Dunn kept USC in front. The senior guard scored eight points in the quarter, including a clutch three in the final minute that pushed the Trojans back ahead, 48–46, entering the fourth.
The final period saw multiple lead changes and tight possessions down the stretch. Dunn opened the quarter with a layup to tie the game at 50–50 and later completed a three-point play to cut the deficit to 56–53.
