Bella Satterwhite Is Picked For Maxx You Project
January 08, 2026 | Women's Beach Volleyball
Satterwhite is one of 10 women to be selected for this program.
LOS ANGELES – USC Beach Volleyball's Bella Satterwhite has worked to make her community better in her hometown of Gulf Breeze, Florida, and now looks to make an impact in the Los Angeles community. With the help of the Maxx You Project through TJ Maxx, Satterwhite will be able to do just that.
Satterwhite started her nonprofit, Serving Up Shoes, in her freshman year of high school, striving to make athletics accessible to kids from all backgrounds. What started as collecting gently used sneakers to give to underprivileged kids in her hometown turned into so much more. After reaching out to a local college in her area to see if they had gently used shoes, they ended up donating backpacks, knee pads, socks and other equipment. This is when she decided to collect all types of sporting equipment to make sports more accessible to underserved communities.
She built up her nonprofit over the last four years before applying for the Maxx You Project, assuming hers would just be one application in a sea of others. That was until she got the email telling her that she was one of 10 women to be selected.
With this sponsorship, Satterwhite plans to expand her program to Los Angeles while continuing to help her community back in her hometown. Through this program, recipients are paired with prominent women who have also made an impact on their communities. Satterwhite will be sponsored by Olympic bronze medalist and social media personality Ilona Maher, who will meet with Satterwhite to find new and creative ways to grow her nonprofit.
"Winning this sponsorship through TJ Maxx means so much to me because it supports not only my journey, but the work I care deeply about: giving back to my community," Satterwhite said. "It represents the power of using opportunity to uplift others and turn success into service."
