No. 2 USC Women’s Golf Travels North for the Stanford Invitational
October 14, 2026 | Women's Golf
The Trojans will face the Stanford Cardinal for the first time since the 2026 NCAA Championship match play final.
STANFORD, Calif. — The No. 2 USC Women's Golf Team will travel to Northern California for the Stanford Invitational, held at the Stanford Golf Course from Oct. 16-18.
This year's Stanford Invitational has a loaded field with six of the 17 teams ranked in the top 25 of the Scoreboard rankings, which debuted this Wednesday. No. 4 Virginia, No. 8 UCLA and No. 12 Stanford will be USC's main challengers. Additionally, this week doubles as an NCAA Championship rematch of sorts between USC and Stanford, who squared off in the match play finals last season.
The tournament also doubles as the PlayForHer tournament, which is a fundraiser held during Breast Cancer Awareness Month every year. Fans are encouraged to make a pledge for every birdie made by USC or the entire tournament field. Flat donations are also welcome and greatly appreciated. The proceeds raised through PlayForHer will go toward supporting breast cancer research. The team that has the most birdies throughout the tournament will be recognized at the awards ceremony.
USC is coming off its best tournament in program history. The Trojans fired an 817 (-47), which broke the school and program record by two strokes. At the time, the 817 was the best team score of the season in all of collegiate golf. Three Trojans ended up in the top 10, led by Jasmine Koo, who tied for third; Sarah Hammett, who tied for fifth; plus Kylie Chong, who tied for 10th.
The Trojans' lineup will be Bailey Shoemaker, Kaili Xiao, Kylie Chong, Sarah Hammett and Elise Lee. This will be the first time this lineup has been used this season.
At this tournament last year, the Trojans placed third and Catherine Park led the team with a shared second-place finish. Chong, Hammett and Lee are the lineup players from last year who will return this week.
