USC Track and Field Closes Indoor Regular Season with Strong Showings at Don Kirby Elite Invite and Husky Classic

Cordial Vann tied the freshman record in the men's 60m

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The USC track and field team completed the indoor regular season on Saturday afternoon with dominant performances in the 60m on both the men's and women's side at the Don Kirby Elite Invite and in the women's 800m at the Husky Classic.

DON KIRBY ELITE INVITE
The men's freshmen set the tone for the entire weekend. Cordial Vann had the standout moment of the day tying the indoor freshman record in the men's 60m. His time of 6.60 matched Brendon Stewart's freshman time from the 2019 indoor conference championships.

Dajaz DeFrand picked up her second win of the season in the women's 60m with a time of 7.15, setting a new season best in the event. Mia Brahe-Pedersen came in fourth with a time of 7.25 and Olivia Pace ran 7.28 to place sixth.

Asjah Atkinson advanced to the finals of the women's 60m hurdles where she took fourth place in a time of 8.17. In the women's relay, the USC team of Christine Mallard, Olivia Pace, Joelle Trepagnier and Madison Mosby took fifth place with a time of 3:35.18 to close out the day.

HUSKY CLASSIC
The distance crew took on Seattle for the 800m races at the Husky Classic. In the women's 800m, Oluwatosin Awoleye set a new personal record of 2:06.44. Her time ranks seventh all-time in school history.
