USC Swimming’s Bella Brito Places Third In 100Y Breast On Day 2 Of Big Ten Championships

Minneapolis, Minn.- The USC women's swimming and diving team turned in five individual championship final performances on the second day of the Big Ten Championships.
Bella Brito led the way with a third place finish in the 100y breaststroke to give USC its first top three finish of the meet with a season-best time of 59.10. Ashley McMillan placed sixth with a season-best time of her own with a mark of 59.61.
Kate Miller kicked off the evening with the 1-meter diving consolation final. Miller took second with a score of 285.75.
The 400Y IM was the first individual event of the night and the Trojans had three representatives in the finals. Justina Kozan claimed fourth with a NCAA qualifying time of 4:04.77 in the championship final. In the C Final, Ella Flowers placed second by posting a time of 4:11.61 followed by Cornelia Fox in eighth.
Nicole Maier and Claire Tuggle placed fourth and seventh respectively in the championship final of the 200y free with times of 1:43.19 and 1:46.07. Dora Molnar took fourth in the C final with a time of 1:47.09.
The 200y freestyle squad of Brito, Maier, McMillan and Kozan turned in a time of 1:28.85.
The Women of Troy sit in fifth place with 296 points through eight events while Michigan leads the way with 517.5 points.
