Trojans come out on top during Sunday doubleheader.
LOS ANGELES — No. 21 USC men's tennis closed out a perfect Sunday at Marks Tennis Stadium, edging UNLV 4-3 in a tightly contested morning match before cruising past UC Irvine 4-0 in the afternoon to complete the doubleheader sweep on Feb. 8.

After UNLV claimed the doubles point, USC worked its way back in singles play, earning four victories to secure the comeback win.
Neils Hoffmann opened singles action with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 victory on court five to put USC on the board. UNLV responded on court one, where No. 44 Ilia Snitari defeated Nathan Trouve, before Connor Church answered for the Trojans with a 6-1, 6-2 win on court six to even the score at 2-2.
The Rebels regained the lead on court two, but USC answered again as Andrin Casanova picked up a straight-set win on court four, 7-6(6), 6-1, setting the stage for the clincher.
Max Exsted sealed the match for the Trojans on court three, earning a 7-6(5), 6-2 victory over Illia Maksymchuk to complete the 4-3 comeback.

USC carried its momentum into the afternoon, jumping out to an early lead against UC Irvine and never looking back.
The Trojans secured the doubles point behind wins from the pairings of Connor Church/Niels Hoffmann and Andrin Casanova/Jack McCarthy. In singles, Pablo Robledo Hoyos set the tone with a commanding 6-1, 6-1 victory on court six, followed closely by Casanova's straight-set win on court four.
Church sealed the sweep on court five with a 6-4, 6-4 decision, as several other matches were left unfinished once the clinch was secured.
With the two victories, USC improves to 6-3 overall. The Trojans return to action on Friday, Feb. 13 as USC hosts No. 24 Pepperdine at 1:30 p.m. PT at Marks Stadium.
