No. 13 USC Baseball Slugs Way to Sweep of Washington

It was USC's fourth run-rule victory as the Trojans move to 24-1 overall and 8-1 in Big Ten play. Washington falls to 9-14, 4-5. The Trojans' 24-1 record is the best in program history through 25 games.
USC quickly erased a 1-0 deficit in the first, scoring five runs on four hits in the opening frame. Brock Slaton capped the five-run inning with a two-run double as part of his four-RBI day.
USC would put up runs in six of the seven innings on Sunday as the offense kept the pressure on all game. Slaton later hit a two-run homer in the third and then Andrew Lamb hit a three-run shot in the sixth to make it a 13-4 ballgame. Augie Lopez's single up the middle in the seventh scored Maddox Riske, pushing it to a 10-run lead and ending the game.
The Trojans scored their 14 runs on 11 hits, with eight players recording hits and RBI in the contest.
Andrew Johnson gave up three runs in his 4.0 innings of work on the mound, with Henry Chabot giving up one run in 2.0 innings and Sax Matson tossing a scoreless top of the seventh.
