LOS ANGELES – The USC lacrosse team (6-7, 0-5 Big Ten) fell to Rutgers (7-4, 2-1) in a 15-8 decision at Rawlinson Stadium on Saturday evening, March 28.

- Jr. attacker Reese Robinson scored two goals and raked in three draw controls.
- Jr. midfielder Anna Regan scored a pair of goals, nabbed five draw controls, and picked up two ground balls.Â
- Jr. attacker Emma Bunting dished out three assists, caused two turnovers, and grabbed a ground ball.
- So. defender Sophie Gangemi had a team-high three ground balls and caused one turnover.
- For the Scarlet Knights, Caroline Ling scored five goals and had two assists to lead all players with seven points. Kate Theofield shot ten times and scored four goals. Kate Buck led all players with six draw controls.
- The Trojans won the center circle by a 15-9 count in draw controls and out-shot the Knights, 33-25. Rutgers beat USC to ground balls by a slim 13-12 edge and had more saves by a 12-5 count.
- Rutgers opened scoring just 90 seconds in the game, but Regan and Robinson scored back-to-back goals to put the Trojans in front, 2-1. A pair of free-position goals were part of a 4-0 Rutgers run that put the Scarlet Knights in front, 5-2, at the end of the first quarter.
- The Knights scored the first three of the second quarter to extend their run to 7-0 and moved ahead, 8-2, with 7:21 to halftime. The Trojans scored the next two and crossed halftime with a 4-1 burst to pull within three goals, 9-6, when Bunting found Regan for the goal just three minutes into the second half. Robinson and Hollis Mulry scored a pair of goals, but Rutgers finished scoring six of the last eight goals to top off a 15-8 victory.Â
- USC hits the road to face No. 11 Northwestern (7-3, 1-1 Big Ten) at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium in Evanston, Ill., on Saturday (April 4) at 2 p.m. CT (noon PT). The game will be shown live on Big Ten Network. On Monday (April 6), the Trojans head to Mount Pleasant, Mich., to take on Central Michigan (2-9, 1-2 MAC) at CMU Lacrosse Complex at noon ET (9 a.m. PT) on the Chippewas All-Access streaming platform.
- USC fell to 1-1 all-time against Rutgers.
- The Trojans moved to 4-4 at home on Rawlinson Stadium grass.
- The Women of Troy lost their fifth straight game.Â
