The Women of Troy lost 4-1 to the Bruins on Senior Day.

LOS ANGELES – No. 3 USC Beach Volleyball fell to No. 1 UCLA on Thursday, April 16, at Merle Norman Stadium. This is the fourth time this season the Women of Troy have lost to the Bruins, and it is also their first home loss this season.

Kyra Zaengle and Calinda Kok started off the day for USC as they faced Ava Williamson and Jesse Dueck from UCLA in the fourth flight. After a strong start with a 21-13 victory in the first set, Zaengle and Kok dropped the next two sets 19-21, 11-15, resulting in a point for the Bruins.

In the No. 2 spot, Ashley Pater and Sarah Wood for USC engaged in a three-set battle against Kaley Mathews and Ensley Alden. Pater and Wood claimed the first set 21-15 but fell in the subsequent sets, 16-21 and 16-18, as UCLA added another point on the board.

The 5s saw Madison Goellner and Kaileigh Truslow deliver the Trojans' only point, winning in straight sets, 21-18, 21-17, over UCLA's Kenzie Brower and Mallory LaBreche.

At the No. 1 spot, Kennedy Coakley and Zoey Henson of the Trojans contended with Sally Perez and Maggie Boyd. Despite a competitive first set, Coakley and Henson were unable to secure a win, falling 20-22, 16-21.

After the decision, Bella Satterwhite and Kerry Keefe fought against Alexa Fernandez and Harper Cooper in the third flight. The match concluded in a two-set loss for USC with scores of 29-31 and 19-21.
