No. 21 USC Baseball Falls to UC Irvine on the Road, 4-1

IRVINE, Calif. – The No. 21 USC baseball team dropped a non-conference road game, 4-1, at UC Irvine on Tuesday night.
The Trojans fall to 34-12 on the season, while UC Irvine improves to 19-23.
The Anteaters struck first in the bottom of the first inning on a sacrifice fly. Diego Velazquez came on in relief, tossing 3.0 strong innings while allowing no hits or runs and striking out three.
Andrew Lamb went on to tie the game in the top of the fourth with a sacrifice fly to left center field that scored Augie Lopez, but UC Irvine responded with three runs in the bottom of the fifth to regain the lead.

USC will return to Dedeaux Field to resume Big Ten play, hosting Rutgers for a three-game series. All games will be broadcast on B1G+.
