USC Track and Field's Dajaz DeFrand Earns Big Ten Women's Track Athlete of the Week

LOS ANGELES – The Big Ten Conference announced Dajaz DeFrand as the Big Ten Women's Track Athlete of the Week for May 13. The senior received the final regular-season accolade following the Franson Last Chance meet.

DeFrand ran the No. 1 time in the Big Ten in the 200m at Franson Last Chance on Saturday. Her wind-aided time of 22.58 secured the event win and marked a new season best. This is the first weekly award of the season for DeFrand.

Trojans earning Big Ten honors this season are: Garrett Kaalund (Jan. 21, Feb. 11), Ashley Erasmus (Feb. 11), Racquil Broderick (Apr. 1), Jada Foreman (Apr. 1), Oluwatosin Awoleye (Feb. 11, Apr. 8), Madison Whyte (Feb. 11, Apr. 8, Apr. 22) and Dajaz DeFrand (May 13).
