USC Men’s Golf Rises up the Leaderboard at the Big Ten Championship

The Trojans moved into a tie for fourth after firing a 277 total (-3) in round two.
NORTH PLAINS, Ore. — Surging up seven places in the leaderboard, the USC Men's Golf Team rose into a tie for fourth place out of 18 teams on the second day of the Big Ten Championships, held at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club on Saturday, May 2.
On a cooler day with light rain, the Trojans fired a 277 (-3) to bring their total to a 570 (+10) heading into the final round. USC entered the day in a tie for 11th and was the second-highest mover of the day, trailing only Purdue, which rose 11 spots to tie USC for fourth. The Trojans are five strokes back of No. 12 Illinois, which sits in third place. UCLA leads with a -10 thanks to Josh Kim leading the field with a -7.
Firing a 66 (-4) in the second round, Jaden Dumdumaya rose into second place at a 135 (-5). The sophomore had six birdies to just two bogeys on the day. After starting the day with a bogey, Dumdumaya lowered his score with three birdies on the front side before adding three more on the back side. He is two strokes behind UCLA's Josh Kim heading into the final round.
Fellow sophomore Jack Buchanan fied a 68 (-2) and rose into a tie for fifth with a 138 (-2). Buchanan started strong with three birdies in the first six holes before having one of his two bogeys on the par-4 No. 17. He lowered his score with a birdie on No. 18 as he made the turn, then remained at par until he bogeyed No. 9 to end the day.
USC's biggest mover of the day, freshman Raghav Gulati fired a 70 (E) and rose 17 places to tie for 65th with a 148 (+8). Gulati's two birdies came on the front side before he ran into trouble with a bogey at the turn. He remained at par for the next seven holes before having a bogey on the par-4 No. 8.
Rounding out the Trojans, Luke Stock is in 75th place with a 141 (+11), while Nicolas Dominguez is tied for 78th with a 143 (+13).
